Commited to Australian Native Plant Protection

Did you know that the Sapindus Mukorossi seeds are prohibited from being grown in Australia?

Research indicates that this tree could easily become a pest and threaten our native vegetation if they were grown here. This is why Green & Nutty™ have a quality control process to keep our soap nuts free of seeds. However, it won't work without your help!

From time to time a seed may sneak through the shelling process and we need your help to keep our supplier accountable. Although the soap nuts are unlikely to germinate, we really do not want to risk the possibility to doing damage to our indigenous environment and ask that you send any seeds, or whole soap nuts including seed, back to us.

As a gesture of good faith for your efforts, when you return a seed with the order number from your tax invoice, we will donate $2.00 to Conservation Volunteers Australia's Better Earth Programme. Better Earth is the award winning program which undertakes projects in biodiversity, coastal conservation, community environmental education, river and wetland health, sustainable land use through to urban conservation.

Through the Better Earth program Conservation Volunteers contributes significant conservation outcomes.

Each year Better Earth volunteer teams:

  • Plant more than 1 million trees for habitat and land restoration.
  • Collect over 1,000 tons of native seed for revegetation and reforestation projects.
  • Build and restore over 300 kilometers of walking tracks and boardwalks.
  • Install more than 80 kilometers of conservation fencing to protect vulnerable areas.
  • Complete 500 wildlife surveys to assist with threatened species management.
So please, help us help our native environment and send us back any seeds that you may have found!
